Adversity Alert – Patriot Games

Who is Jacoby Brissett?

Nicknamed Biscuits by his North Carolina teammates, Brissett threw for 2,662 yards and 20 touchdowns in his senior year at NC State. He was also drafted by the Patriots with the 91st overall pick in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

So, where does the adversity fit in here?

Well, Biscuits is black, and if he get’s the nod to start on Thursday vs The Texans, he’ll be the first black QB to start for the Patriots, ever. Adversity.

After Garoppolo left the Dolphins on Sunday with a banged up shoulder, Biscuits came in to play for the final 38 snaps, completing 6 of 9 passes for 92 yards. A Patriots record for most career passing yards by a black Quarterback*.

So let’s recap, we have a black rookie QB, coming in after the two starting QB’s are out. Already breaking records. Taking on a tough Texans defence where JJ. Watt is quoted as saying “I’m going to have some Chocolate Biscuits with tea on Thursday Night”**.

We think Biscuits is going to go off. He is a must start this week in all Fantasy Leagues.

*Biscuits is the 6th black QB to play for the Patriots, but none of the other 5 have ever started for the team.  **Not a real quote.
